Sustainability is one of our core initiatives. Our green factories are a testament to our love for the planet.
In 2008 we built North India's first platinum rated green factory certified by
LEED - Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design - a worldwide green building certification program.
We follow a zero discharge of liquid waste policy.
Everyday 30,000 liters of wastewater from production activities undergoes treatment via an Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) on our factory premises.
20,000 liters of wastewater generated from domestic activities is treated daily through a Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) on our factory premises.
The ETP/STP treated wastewater is subsequently utilized for horticulture within the factory premises. We are in the process of integrating an ultrafiltration (UF) unit enabling wider use of treated water.
Our Green Factory was built using local sustainable materials including recycled steel, FSC certified wood and fly ash bricks. The building was designed to optimize daylight usage.
We have installed solar panels with capacity exceeding 230 kW. Plans are underway to elevate this capacity to 500 kW.
RMX is committed to a zero solid waste landfill policy, ensuring that no waste is sent to landfills.
Recycling:
RMX sends ETP/STP sludge, e-waste, and recyclables to government authorized recyclers for proper disposal
and recycling.
Organic Waste Converters:
Kitchen waste is processed using organic waste converters into compost.
We constantly endeavour to implement energy saving changes. For example, we recently upgraded our ceiling fans to state-of- the- art 30 W BLDC fans, achieving over 57% energy efficiency in ceiling fan operation.
We have also completely replaced our florescent lights with LED lights to reduce electricity consumption. LED lights are upto 80% more efficient.
Greenhouse gases are atmospheric gases (including CO2, CH4, N2O, HFC’s, PFC’s, SF6 and NF3) that trap heat, contributing significantly to climate change. We conduct annual audits for GHG emissions.
In 2023, we cut GHG emissions by 10.7 tons. Our target is to reduce GHG emissions by 90 tons by 2025.
Rainwater harvesting systems have been implemented to recharge groundwater in all factories.
RMX has embraced innovative water efficiency solutions like installing Nano Technology Washing Machines. These machines reduce water consumption by 95%.
We are in the midst of implementing a real -time carbon tracking system through our ERP.
